A 23-year-old single rancher from south-central South Dakota is the winner who bought his ticket in Winner.
Neal Wanless, who lives near Mission, about 35 miles west of Winner, was presented Friday as the holder of the $232.1 million Powerball jackpot ticket last month.
Accompanied by his parents, who live at the same ranch, Wanless was introduced during a ceremony Friday afternoon in the state capital of Pierre. He appeared in jeans held up with a big-buckled belt, a black cowboy hat and a blue-print dress shirt. He matched the May 27 drawing of 5, 6, 12, 16 and 21. The Powerball was 7.
