The mysterious ailment that has ravaged honeybee colonies around the world still is wreaking havoc for some Central New York beekeepers.
Just ask Al Dixon, of Granby. He lost nearly 40 of his total 60 colonies this winter.
"I lost more this year than last year, but not as bad as three years ago," said Dixon, who has been a beekeeper for nearly 40 years. He and his bees make about 10,000 pounds of honey each year.
