THE trouble with dining out is you never know what goes into your food. When you're shopping for ingredients for your own kitchen, you can try to source food from organic producers - or study the small-print on the supermarket shelf to try find products which are organic, free-range, free of additives, preservatives and animal by-products, low-sodium, low-sulphur and low-sugar. A tall order, I'll admit.
While looking at the menu at The Olive Station, a well-known cafe and deli which recently relocated from Muizenberg to Rondebosch village, I was delighted to spot a statement of intent. The owners declare in the small-print, "We use only free-range eggs, ...
