The first PA reinforcement beam, which has been created for truck radiator grilles has been developed by the French-based company Rhodia Polyamide, in conjugation with Inoplast, based in Saint Desirat, France. This project, which has gone into production on a well-known range of trucks, is aimed at reducing costs and overall vehicle weight, without interfering with the function of the structural element required to maintain the grille's rigidity, say the companies.
Rhodia's PA, called Technyl Star AFX was selected due to its mechanical strength, combined with its high fluidity. According to Rhodia, the use of the company's PA resulted in a cost saving of 30% ...
