OMV Aktiengesellschaft (OMV), an oil and gas company, and Al-Thani of the United Arab Emirates have been awarded an oil and gas exploration permit in Tunisia. Both the companies will work together with Entreprise Tunisienne d'Activites Petrolieres (ETAP) under a production sharing contract in which the partners will spend $3 million in exploration. The contract covers an area of 6,592 square kilometers near the southern town of Gabes.
