The British Royal Navy recently tested the American Deep Siren communications system for submerged subs, and was pleased with the results. Two years ago, the manufacturer (Raytheon) and the U.S. Navy completed development of this system, which enables nuclear subs to communicate with the rest of the world that, normally, could not be done until the boat came close to the surface and poked a radio antenna above the surface.
