DURHAM, N.C., Jan. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Midway Airlines (Nasdaq: MDWY) reported an increase in load factor for 1997 as well as year-over-year increases in load factor in each quarter of the year. Full year load factor was 63.2 percent, up 6.4 percentage points over 1996. Load factor improvements in 1997 ranged from 1 percentage point in the first quarter to 10 percentage points during the third quarter.
Available seat miles in 1997 amounted to 1,388 million, a decline of 21 percent in comparison to 1996; while revenue passenger miles amounted to 877 million, a decline of 12 percent compared to 1996. The decrease in available seat miles was primarily the result ...
