During the past 35 years I have both made and listened to many tapes allied to pictures, and this experience has gradually built up a critical ear for sound.
Frequently voice passages have been woolly, boomy, too quick, too long, or confused by over-loud accompanying sounds such as music.
There is nothing magical in recording good voice passages; although, one must admit, some voices are more difficult to record than others. One of the easiest ways of beginning good voice recordings is to use a uni-directional microphone of good quality.
