Since Ben & Jerry'sremodeled its new-store prototype last fall, the chain has seen an increase in customers, launched green initiatives, and plans to continue developing new stores following the same model.
"We'd like to have 75 percent of our shops feature the new look by 2011, that's the goal," said Mike Andrus, retail construction manager for the Burlington, Vt.-based ice cream maker. "We like to keep up with the Jones', so to speak, so that's why we have looked at making franchise upgrades every five years."
