MEDFORD - Sixth-seeded Paige Bennett and Kelsi Vanheise of Sheldon completed a run of upsets by beating South Eugene's Allison Kratka and Emma Daugherty in the doubles championship of the Southwest Conference girls tennis championships on Saturday at North Medford High School.
Sheldon tied with North Medford for the team title with 28 points, and South Eugene tied for third with Grants Pass with 22 points.
Bennett and Vanheise beat top-ranked Carissa Arnesen and Jaci Abeloe of North Medford, 6-1, 3-6, 7-5 in the semifinals before beating fifth-seeded Kratka and Daugherty, 7-5, 7-5, in the championship. Both teams ...
