Paper started the rumours of 'seedy' affair, says Leech
COMMUNICATIONS consultant Monica Leech told the High Court yesterday that reports of rumours of her having an affair with Minister Martin Cullen had been started by an 'Evening Herald' campaign against her.
Counsel for Independent Newspapers, which owns the 'Evening Herald', told the court that reports of rumours that she was having an affair were first published in 'Ireland on Sunday' (now the 'Mail on Sunday') and were denied by Mr Cullen.
Ms Leech said, however, that when the 'Herald' reported the minister's denials of those stories, instead of saying there was no truth to the affair ...
