AN UNFINISHED work by Newcastle's finest composer will be performed for the first time in celebrations of his birthday.
Festivities marking the 300th anniversary of Charles Avison's birth begin this weekend with the dedication of the city's new central library in his name.
It will be known as the Charles Avison Building after the ceremony on Sunday.
