Things became a bit rowdy Thursday morning outside an upscale downtown eatery, when a manager of March had to get physical with a man who police say broke into the restaurant's Fifth Street Public Market business office before it opened for the day.

Eugene police officer Randy Sewell - who had a vehicle stopped nearby - watched the 9:30 a.m. scene unfold before entering the fray himself.

"I heard someone yelling for help," Sewell recalled. "I looked and saw three (men) literally tumbling down the stairs (at Fifth Street Public Market). One guy was obviously trying to get away from the other two."
