  1997 Growth Rate Surpasses 1996 Figures, Eclipses Industry 

ATLANTA, Jan. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A, Inc., the nation's third-largest, quick-service chicken restaurant company, recently announced 1997 system-wide sales of $671.95 million. These figures reflect an impressive 17.89 percent increase over 1996 for a fifth consecutive year of double-digit gain. And the growth rate is increasing -- from 11.18 percent (between 1994 and 1995) to 13.63 percent (between 1995 and 1996) to the present growth rate. If the current trend continues, Chick-fil-A is poised to reach its goal of $1 billion in sales by 2000.
