Antipsychotic drugs made by Pfizer Inc. (New York), AstraZeneca Plc and Eli Lilly & Co. (Indianapolis IN) work in teens and adolescents and have side effects "similar" to those seen in adults, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said. Agency staff posted a review of the pediatric application for Pfizer's Geodon for bipolar mania on the agency's Web site. It also reviewed the applications for AstraZeneca's Seroquel and Lilly's Zyprexa, both for schizophrenia and bipolar mania.
