Shayna is on hiatus from her day job at the Jewish Rehabilitation Center in Swampscott. Facing retirement and nursing an injury, the lovable 13-pound poodle is missing her beloved friends at the JRC, but not as much as they are missing her. Shayna has been accompanying her owner, JRC activity director, Roberta Graffam, to work every day for the past eight years.
"Every day when I show up at work without Shayna, the residents ask for her. Even our residents with memory impairments are looking for Shayna when I arrive," said Graffam.
Always willing to sit on a lap, befriend a resident and attend Friday Shabbat services, Shayna has left an indelible paw ...
