International perfume expert RHONA WELLS travelled to the rose-growing areas of Morocco in the valleys of the High Atlas mountains to witness the harvesting of the rose petals which make one of the world's most popular and sought-after fragrances.

The rose has an outstanding place in history, synonymous with beauty and love: Cleopatra is said to have received Mark Anthony in a boudoir covered in rose petals and several bouquets of roses were found in the 3,000-year-old tomb of Tutankhamun.
