HEN you think of the Caribbean, you think of warm sandy beaches, clear blue water and stunning scenery. Wrap all of this up with amazing food, wonderful people and a laidback island mentality and you have the beautiful island of St Kitts. At 68 sq miles, St Kitts is not the biggest of the islands and, to date, has probably not been top of the Caribbean wish-list for sun-seekers, which is reflected in its largely unspoiled and undeveloped tourist resorts. But it is that unassuming, almost British-like self reserve (it only gained full independence from Britain in the 1980s) which adds to its old-world charm.
