EMERYVILLE, Calif. and LONDON, Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Chiron Corporation (Nasdaq: CHIR) and Pharmacia & Upjohn (NYSE: PNU) announced today the formation of a strategic collaboration to identify small molecule inhibitors of the hepatitis C virus (HCV). This collaboration will combine Chiron's HCV virology, protein expression, high throughput assay development and combinatorial chemistry capabilities with Pharmacia & Upjohn's structural biology, medicinal chemistry and pre-clinical expertise.
