The patron saint of gay Latino artists, visionary Spanish filmmaker Pedro Almodovar is the director of such hilarious films as Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, High Heels, Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down! and The Flower of My Secret.
This year he returns with his best work to date, an extraordinarily mature and sexy film about guilt, destiny, and redemption called Live Flesh. During a recent meeting in West Hollywood, Calif., Almodovar was gracious, full of humor, and. with his Barcelonian Spanish, as charming as his films.
