Hershey Foods Corp. - the leading North American manufacturer of confectionery, chocolate and chocolate-related grocery products and branded dry pasta - is named 1997 Packaging Leader of the Year by the Packaging Education Foundation (PEF).
Joseph P. Viviano, Hershey's president and chief operating officer, will accept the honor at PEF's annual Packaging Education Benefit Banquet on Oct. 30. at Chicago's Hotel Intercontinental. PEF will also induct three new members to the Packaging Hall of Fame: Donald Betando of San Jose State University; Lejo C. Brana of Riviana Foods; and Robert T. Testin of Clemson University.
