Hip-hop's hottest property going is gospel artist Kirk Franklin
Flip on MTV anytime, day or night, and you're bound to see Kirk Franklin singing with a choir of kids dressed like a hip-hop crew but giving it up to God nonetheless. Franklin is a gospel musician, songwriter, and bandleader whose appropriation of hip-hop on his album God's Property From Kirk Franklin's Nu Nation (with its smash single "Stomp") has attracted younger listeners to the gospel message like never before. He has had phenomenal success, in effect turning the turntables on rap.
