GLENVILLE -- A California subsidiary of an Italian manufacturer has made an offer for the Super Steel Schenectady plant, although a deal apparently isn't close.
AnsaldoBreda Inc., a unit of AnsaldoBreda S.p.A. of Italy, has submitted a proposal to Milwaukee-based Super Steel to buy the plant and all its equipment, according to officials at the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority in Buffalo.
ABI, as the company also is called, is the contractor to refurbish Buffalo's 27 light-rail cars.
ABI subcontracted with Super Steel to do the work in Scotia, but when that plant was closed, ABI had to find a new subcontractor, according to minutes from ...
