Arthur Polonsky spoke from his home in Newton with an uncommon clarity and swift pace for a man 82 years of age. The acclaimed artist with local ties still creates art today just as he had when he was a curious youth beginning to dabble in his craft.

"I work on my art late at night now," he explained. "I've gone back to the schedule I had as a young man."

Polonsky's interest in art hasn't declined since he began, unlike his hearing, which isn't as accurate as it once was.
