Arthur Polonsky spoke from his home in Newton with an uncommon clarity and swift pace for a man 82 years of age. The acclaimed artist with local ties still creates art today just as he had when he was a curious youth beginning to dabble in his craft.
"I work on my art late at night now," he explained. "I've gone back to the schedule I had as a young man."
Polonsky's interest in art hasn't declined since he began, unlike his hearing, which isn't as accurate as it once was. But he's more than capable of listening to those willing to raise their voice an octave. Mentally, he's sharp and insightful--like his younger self, but retired. As a professor, ...
