Taipei, June 16, 2009 (CENS)--Altek Corp., one of Taiwan's leading assemblers of digital still camera (DSC), has become the biggest of its kind worldwide by exceeding Sanyo of Japan and Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. of Taiwan, according to a report by the Japan-based market researcher Techno Systems Research Inc. (TSR)
The TSR report shows the world's top-five ODMs (original design manufacturer) of DSC, in descending order, as Altek, Sanyo, Hon Hai, Ability, and Flextronics, last year.
In terms of shipments of own-branded products, Altek was the world's third-largest last year, only behind Canon and Sony.
