This year's Black History Month theme focuses on a rewarding remedy--entrepreneurship.
The Association For the Study of Afro-American Life and History, Inc. (ASALH) chose the theme "African Americans and Business: The Path Towards Empowerment" for 1998.
While most traditional civil rights remedies and practices have not emphasized economic entrepreneurship practices, this effort has proven to be the one that rewards its followers the greatest, ASALH officials say.
