Baldwinsville volunteer firefighters and two contractors involved in building the company's new fire station on Crego Road have donated $4,500 to the Rescue Mission.

When the $1.45 million station was built last year, the Rescue Mission allowed contractors to tap into its nearby Thrifty Shopper store's electricity, saving thousands of dollars and keeping the project moving forward.

"If it wasn't for the Rescue Mission, it would have made our jobs much more difficult," fire department spokesman Tom Perkins told Rescue Mission representatives before presenting the fire department's check for $1,500. "You are good ...
