CRAIG Gardner has been urged to use his success at the European Under-21 championships to kick-start his Villa career.
Gardner has been linked with a whole host of clubs during pre-season, including Blues, Wolves, Wigan and Middlesbrough.
Although Villa boss Martin O'Neill is not looking to sell, he is also unlikely to stand in the Solihull youngster's way should he opt for a change of scenery, as he did with Steven Davis, Liam Ridgewell and Gary Cahill.
Gardner is thought to be in two minds about his future despite having three years remaining on his contract.
