Shandong raises hep B immunization rate for children to 90 pct
Shanghai. June 25. INTERFAX-CHINA - More than 2 million children aged under 15 years old received hepatitis B injections from January 2006 to June this year in Shandong Province, raising the immunization rate from 80 percent to 90 percent, the Shandong Provincial Health Bureau announced on June 24.
As of mid-June this year, the Shandong Provincial Health Bureau has reduced the hepatitis B virus surface antigen (HBsAg) prevalence rate to under 1.36 percent among children aged below 15 years old, the announcement said.
