Byrne Dairy Inc. has made a $350,000 investment on a pilot processing plant that it hopes will draw food scientists from around the world.
The facility in Byrne's Ultra Dairy plant, in DeWitt, will create custom flavors and formulas for milk, flavored milk, coffee creamers, soy milk and ice cream.
"The real win for the community is that we expect to have food scientists travel to Syracuse from around the globe to test their planned dairy products in our pilot plant," said Carl Byrne, the company's president and chief executive officer. The company expects about 500 such ...
