Jun 28, 2009 (The Australian - ABIX via COMTEX) -- The latest research by Sweeney Sports on brand recognition among sponsors of sporting events shows that KFC has risen from 73rd to 18th spot, due to the decision to become associated with the new Twenty20 cricket championship. The most successful sports-related sponsors overall are surfwear group Billabong International and the NutriGrain cereal brand of food manufacturer Kellogg, followed by Nike, Ford and Uncle Toby.
