MADISON - A 45-year-old bicyclist was in critical condition at UW Hospital after being hit by a car on the Near East Side.
The male driver of a Ford Taurus was traveling north on Baldwin Street Friday at 7:49 p.m. and struck the male cyclist traveling east on Wilson Street in the middle of the intersection, said Sgt. Tony Fiore, with the Madison Police Department. The cyclist sustained severe head injuries.
Traffic on Wilson Street has a stop sign at the intersection; traffic on Baldwin Street does not.
