Each detail of Richard Klingen's death reveals much about his life: He died at his family's cabin on Gull Lake, a book in his hand, just weeks after his wife, Carmen, died.
A dedicated husband, welcoming host and avid reader, Klingen, known to most as Dick, died June 23. He was 76.
Klingen is perhaps best known for his work as a young CEO of several local banks. But even his professional colleagues tend to remember him grilling hamburgers, giving advice and driving a boat around Gull Lake as water-skiing kids held on.
Even at his busiest, he spent his weekends there.
