MANILA , June 29 (PNA) -- Malacanang this morning said the Office of the President will only defray the travel expenses of the staff of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo who went with her on official trips to Japan, Brazil, and Hong Kong.

"The congressmen and senators who are with the President's delegation will have to pay for their own expenses. It's up to them where they will get their funds for their expenses," said deputy presidential spokesperson Dr. Anthony Golez over radio station RMN-DZXL on Monday morning.

Golez was justifying President Arroyo's travels abroad, insisting that the country was earning "billions of dollars" in investments ...
