DURBAN'S Westville Boy's High School will become the first KwaZulu-Natal school to offer a Chinese language course next year.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between the school and the Chinese consulate in Durban yesterday to establish a "Confucius classroom" at the school. The class, which will teach Chinese language and culture, is set to start in January 2010.
Liu Yantao, the Chinese Consul General in Durban, said yesterday that the consulate received many queries from people about how they could learn Chinese.
