PROTEA Hotel staff who were questioned after the Egyptian soccer players laid claims of theft in their rooms have been cleared by the police.
This is despite the continued insistence of the Egyptian delegation that they were robbed.
The Egyptian soccer players made allegations to the hotel security that someone had broken into their hotel rooms and disappeared with about R19 000 in cash.
The players were booked on the first floor of the hotel, and a group of staffers were entrusted with cleaning their rooms. The complaint was lodged on June 18, prompting the police to conduct interviews with the complainants and ...
