President Lee Myung-bak went on radio yesterday and said he would not push the canal project during his term. Compared to his previous conditional statements that he would not push the project as long as there was no public consensus on it, it s a step forward. This is because at least he has clearly said he would not start the canal project during his term. However, this statement is hard to accept as it s closer to a reservation than a complete abandonment of the project.
