The giggling began when the gals learned that four handsome men were about to arrive.
"Now please, don't mob these men," said Opal Nelson, which did nothing to quell the high spirits.
You'd have thought you were in a room full of college coeds instead of an otherwise sedate gathering of women old enough to be your grandma or, for some of you, your great-grandma.
But this was a Rosie the Riveter Association convention, Opal Nelson its chairperson. Two of Oregon's four chapters sent representatives for the daylong event held at the Veterans Memorial Building in Eugene.
