A few months before my dad died, Adam went with his preschool to Hebrew Senior Life. The children were dressed in their Purim costumes to sing the standard repertoire of Jewish nursery school songs. Adam, the King of Shushan, wore a red velvet cape trimmed with polyester Dalmatian fur. His scepter matched his gold crown. He was regal and he knew it.
