According to recent research from Russia, "New crystals of the set KxRb1-xPb2Br5 with 0
"The mechanism of structural transformation for a potassium to rubidium substitution with the symmetry change from monoclinic P2(1)/c to tetragonal 14/mcm (at x = 0.35) is suggested. The origin of rare earth atoms incorporation into the crystal structure of new compounds is explained," wrote L.I. Isaenko and colleagues.
The researchers concluded: "Polarization-optical observations reveal a dependence of the temperature of phase transition in mixed crystals on their composition."
Isaenko and colleagues published their study in Crystal Growth & Design (Effect of K
