Rail-equipment modernization services provider, Bombardier Transportation, a unit of Bombardier Inc. announced Wednesday that it won an additional order for supplying 22 Bombardier Talent 2 trains, valued below 100 million euros or around US$140 million, from Deutsche Bahn AG, increasing the total number ordered by the German national railway to 98 trains.
Bombardier said that the fleet, comprised of 5 three-car, 9 four-car and 8 five-car trains, will be deployed on the electrical network, E-Netz, in Franconia from 2011 onwards, traversing the tracks between Nuremberg, Bamberg and Wurzburg and other towns in South Thuringia.
