"An attempt was made to control waterborne pathogens by using medicinal plant extracts. One hundred and twenty-six water samples from filtration plants, tube wells, and water supplies were collected and analyzed for total and faecal Coliform bacteria as well as for total viable count," investigators in Islamabad, Pakistan report.
"Results showed that waterborne pathogens were numerous and significantly higher than the World Health Organization's recommended guidelines.
