NEWTON, Iowa -- Bill Beer was named president of Maytag Appliances Thursday. He succeeded Lloyd Ward, who became president, chief operating officer and a director of the parent Maytag Corp. here.
Beer, 45, is in charge of the firm's flagship business, North American major appliances. He joined the company in 1974 as a market analyst.
Beginning this decade, he was director of marketing research for the Maytag-brand unit. Since 1991, he has been director of corporate strategy, vice president of marketing for Maytag and Admiral, vice president of strategic marketing for all appliance brands, and ...
