In this recent article published in the New Zealand Veterinary Journal, scientists in Palmerston North, New Zealand conducted a study "To investigate the electroencephalographic ( EEG) and cardiovascular responses of halothane-anaesthetised calves to non-penetrative captive-bolt stunning. Ten calves were minimally anaesthetised with halothane, using an established anaesthesia protocol."
