Elinor Ruth Tatum recently was named publisher of the Amsterdam News, New York's largest and oldest Black newspaper. She was appointed to the post by her father, former publisher Wilbert Tatum.
Elinor, 26, is the daughter of Wilbert, who also is owner of the paper, and Susan Tatum, a Jewish woman who fled Czechoslovakia in 1939.
Prior to her appointment as publisher, Elinor served as associate publisher and chief operating officer of the paper. She recently earned a graduate degree from New York University's ...
