THE mother of six-year-old girl who was treated for cancer at Crumlin has told health chiefs they must start treating 'children better than pet dogs' by ending the queues for surgery at the hospital.

'You wouldn't leave an animal in pain if there was something wrong with them,' Sinead Smith said in a defiant message to HSE chief Professor Brendan Drumm and Health Minister Mary Harney.

'My daughter Georgia is alive today because of the treatment she got for cancer at Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children.
