"This study investigates the friction and wear characteristics of various base oils and additives in lubricated aluminium-on-aluminium and steel-on-aluminium contacts. Cylinder-on-plate tribological tests were conducted with a reciprocating tribometer," investigators in Magdeburg, Germany report.
