THAT Simon Jones will be only an interested observer at the cricket occasion he was born for on Wednesday, will not enter the minds of the thousands who cram into Cardiff's Swalec Stadium to watch the opening day's play of 2009 Ashes Series.
Jones the Pace himself does not want sympathy.
As he says, he's more or less over the mental anguish of finding out that his knee will once again force him to miss an entire summer doing what he does best.
