An independent Malden Hebrew school with ties to a century-old organization is in danger of going belly-up within a few short years, school officials say.
Metro North Regional Hebrew School, the merged product of several independent Hebrew schools in the area, is unaffiliated with a synagogue or particular branch of Judaism. The approximately 23 students' families are not required to be members of any synagogue, including Congregation Agudas Achim-Ezrath Israel, in whose building the Hebrew school is located.
