TRANSFORMATIONS

I think of the ibex with her startled eyes,

Her onyx horns spiraled into gleaming corkscrews,

Her shy heart fluttering within scythe-curved ribs.

When she ran, the world seemed freeze-framed,

As beauty, grace, and power fired the moment

Of her very being, as if the ibex was God.
